Year Six Reflecction

Year 6.
This Year… Year Six was a challenging, head-hurting year wich made my mind sometimes move and spin in circles to dead ends an impossible questions. This recount is all about my favourite year with the best subjects(Maths, Reading, Writing).
--------------------------------------------------------

Maths
Maths was the hardest, most challenging subject this year that includes many problem solving strategies and more. I am really good at solving my Times Tables and many strategies with Division. I mostly struggle with big Fractions and Multiplication when it's really huge numbers. Near the end of this year, Mrs Tafea my Teacher introduced the hardest math I have ever seen, called Circumference. Circumference is a perimeter of a circle. There is also a Radius of a circle wich is the Width or it can be Height. This was the hardest subject of them all.Tips on how to pass Zimsec maths. - The Standard
--------------------------------------------------------
Reading.
Reading was actually the easiest subject of the year because I have a very good memory for Reading. Most of our work for Reading is to read part of a book trying to make connections to real life, we also have to write recounts about the book by answering critical questions. I am a lover for reading and I have a lot of books including the Harry Potter book set.Eight Ways You Know You Have Too Many HP Books | MuggleNet
My  reading is a high level reading that is way above my level I should be and I am really proud that I am a good Reader.
--------------------------------------------------------
Writing.
Writing is one of my favourites because I am a fast typer on computer. I can type the keys without even knowing with my Muscle Memory. I have wrote a lot this year and my favourite is a Recount about a trip to Australia. I wrote over 1200 words in my Recount. For Serious Writers Only: Why Most People Won’t Succeed at ...

Inquiry.
Inquiry is basically about my maths, we have a program called pixton that allows us to explain how we learn by creating a comic strip with endless adjustable settings to it. My inquiry is a good subject because we also make newsletter or a project on paper for are learning to.
--------------------------------------------------------
Pixton.

Image result for pixton

Pixton is a do-it-yourself site where kids can use an incredible option of tools to create and share amazing comics through storyboards. My perspective is that Pixton is the best site for kids to show their learning and create Who-knows-What they can create about their work. This site has endless possibilities. This is my favourite thing ever.

Athletics Day

Yesterday, the 19th, was a forever Sprinting, hard to breathe event called Athletics. Athletics is a really serious, hard-challenging event that takes place every year and gives people an unbelievable, head-spinning and entertaining fun time. Athletics is all about participating with a good attitude and having an incredibly fun time with your Friends and others. You can also meet people and children that you haven't really met yet. Basically Im saying that… is Athletics is a really fun, Superb event that should be Participated in and is a good chance to be a Role-Model.

In the beginning, we all walked silently down stairs and lined up in our Houses, the names of these fierce, Strong houses are called Alamein, Tripoli, Tobruk and the mighty Benghazi!! Luckily the day was a nice clear and hot day, the incandescence of the day was making everyone sweat. After all the mighty-proved Houses sung their tenacious Chants round the Field, we finally got started with the day!

Firstly, I went over with Railey to Mrs Sharma who was hosting the Shotput activity, I really enjoy this activity because I have a powerful arm. When it was my turn I focused on my throwing with my whole body strength. When I threw the ball I was so surprised how far my ball went. But things went unexpected… someone’s ball zoomed past my one and now I didnt win this high-hope activity. I was pretty mad after this happen because I really thought that I had a chance to win, but I was fine after a minute and I just said that it was a good try.

After rotating.. I was at Discus now, wich was hosted by Mrs Tafea, this activity was also one of my favourites. I throwed a pretty far throw but it was decent. I encouraged myself so I have a better hope of doing a good job, sadly I didnt win. There was one Girl who was acting stupid and litteraly dropped the Disc and I thought “ what a bad Role-Model”. I think more people need to Participate with Hope. Discus is a really fun activity because it reminds me of a Frisbee disc and it also reminds me when I used to throw my Puppy’s stick and he would chase it. I had e really fun time at Discus. My Friend Railey was really good a Discus and he got a really good distance throw, he almost won but unfortunately some people threw a better distance.

Lastly, we did the standing jump. This was intense because when you jump you have a big chance of falling forward. The day was a really awesome day. I also hope everyone enoyed. The day because I thought that it was really fun and intense. It was lucky that I brang a lot of water to keep my hydrated in the hot, sweaty sun and I was so tiredThank you for Reading my Athletics day Recount. See you Later.

From the 11th of October to the 25th of October I enjoyed a successfully happy and appreciated holiday to Australia to reunite my powerful loving family and my favourite friend. I will explain the lively and the most incredibly fun things that I and my friend did in the duration of my unforgettable trip. I think being away from my beautiful mom makes me appreciate what I had when you were away for so long. Being with my sister in New Zealand made me also appreciate her and her loving partner and what they are trying to do for me. I have learnt a lot while being away from my mom even though I missed her every day.

I awoke on the plane like I was dreaming as I was missing a message from the Captain of this humongous plane which was passively storming through thunderous clouds of grey and black. I contemplated in my mind guessing what the message might’ve been, after a few minutes of staring up and thinking, I noticed the plane had been quavering and shaking so I went with an answer of the Captain probably announced that the plane had been receiving a series of turbulence. I was stirred with mixed emotions but hoping for the best and soon the Captain’s crew announced soon arrival to Gold Coast in 15 minutes, so I packed hurriedly up my computer and blanket then stuffed them into the small but acceptable bag in front of my comfortable seat.

Suddenly, I heard an ear-scraping noise of the rattling wheels touching down with force onto the airstrip, I was so excited about what is ahead of me that I will be doing with my friend Jamal. I rushed ahead of my big sister and brother in law that was looking after me straight to the baggage claim and there it was, the humongous blue heavy-weight suitcase and dragged it out. I found a cart and limped while I carried the heavy bag to the cart and dumped it on. Soon after, I saw my Mum Karen standing there, I felt really sad at the same time my heart leap with utter joy because I haven’t seen her for an expanded time. I dropped my belongings onto the cart with teary eyes gave her the biggest hug. I didn’t want to let go of her. My sister and partner and the kids got up, at last, and finally, we were out of the airport and into the Car(Mitsubishi Triton). Asleep I go!

We arrived home to my other two sisters and my nephew and niece, I was too tired so I fell asleep in my mum’s big bedroom. The next day my friend Jamal came over(I think he’s 13) and I was incredibly excited because he didn’t know what we were going to do. I told him to close his eyes and come into the room, once he opened his eyes he said: “Oh my god, electric scooters!”. I told him to bring one outside while I got the other one, soon after we got onto the street I showed him how to ride it, by pushing the throttle down is to accelerate and let go to slow down, there is also a brake in front of the handle. Once he mastered the scooter we zoomed down the hill and dashed through the path into the bush trail, we heard a little “hello” from someone’s patio, we then were amazed at a little parrot saying hello to us through its cage. We went passed the parrot freaked out the bush and up the other side of the hill, we arrived back to the house and went inside. It was exhilarated to be back home, seeing my friend and heard the parrot talking to us. What a start to my vacation!

After that, we went inside to play with the Ipad that I own and downloaded an awesome game called limbo, the idea of the game is to get past different and scary upcoming obstacles, for example, a giant spider chases you and you have to kill it. We had such a fun time playing it but we got bored and downloaded another game. This one was called pixel gun 3d. The idea of this game was to kill all the online enemies with a gun of your choice, the last one standing wins! Later we had a little rest because we were slightly tired. We just lazily lying on the floor staring at the ceiling.

Sadly it was time for him to go home. My friend and I had a really fun time and it was time for him to leave, I said goodbye and that's it! It was such an exhausting thrilling day for me. I am back home with my family and had an awesome first day meeting up with Jamal.

Rotorua Recount

Rotorua Recount

On Friday the 13th to Sunday the 15th Me and my family went to Rotorua for the weekend to do really fun activities and Horrifying rides that chills everyone out. We packed our bags then chuckled and riggled them into the boot with not much space and just fit, me and my brother had to go to a service mechanic and got a brand new spare tyre for the trip(even though it's only 3 hours).

After we arrived home and I checked the oil and the water and my brother checked the power-steering, we were all set to go because we had to pick up my littler brother Easton from his birthday at areally cool Tongan Kindergarden. Finally, we buyed some breakfast and zoomed on to the freeway. I started to read my Harry Potter book for about 40 minutes, I fell asleep and my Sister woke me up when we were into Rotorua, as soon as I took a breath it smelled like rotten egg and I wanted to Storm inside so I couldnt smell it.

We finally settled into our room 330 and went straight into the Activities. First we went to a place called SkyLine for some really fun activites on a mountain. The activities was Luge carting down the mountian, Gondola ride and Zipline I instantly said Im going on the Luge Cart. We decided to get a family deal to have 2 Luge rides and 2 Gondola rides, we went up the Gondola for about 5 minutes and we were at the top of the mountain.

I went to get a helmet for safety at the Luge ride and I waited in the line, I examined poeple who has already had a turn so I knew how to ride the Luge, pulling the handles back is the break and holding it forward is to go forward. I waited against the rail and I didnt notice the line was way infront of me so I ran up to the line and it was finally my turn. The Assistant running the Luge carts does a test before they let the person on the cart go. She told be to go forward and stop a few times and then she let me go, there was three signs that said Scenic, Intermediate and advanced, I panicked to choose so I went with the Intermediate path and was really scary but fun. I was so excited because there was lots of obstacles to dodge and swing around but the last bit was a humongous drop ramp and I went so fast and finally had to get off. The only way back up the mountain was a bench(the ones you see in the park)with a little bar that holds you, it was so scary as it wobbles around on the rope, I just wondered how the rope was so strong.

We were finally finished and we rode the Gondola back down the mountain, we felt really hungry so we went to the Restaurant called Texas Chicken. I got a wrap called the Tex Wrap wich had 2 juicy tender chicken peices with melted cheese, tomatoes, diced onions, fresh lettuce and creamy mayonnaise wrapped in a toasted tortilla. It was the most delicious, cruchiest and taste-kicking wrap in the world. I enjoyed the wrap with some great fries and nuggets. Gradually we got full and went back to the Hotel(Rydges) and fell asleep basically. Two hours later we went out for dinner and went to a place called Fat Dog, they had really nice service and I ordered the Fat Dog Works wich came with 2 cripsy Hash Browns, Bacons, Poached Eggs, Sausage, Tomato and Chucky Toast it was really nice and the worker gave us free Boysenberry muffins.

It was already 9 : 00 so we went back and we plugged a hard drive into the tv and it worked so we watched Moana and Coco. I felt really tired and I really wanted some sleep for tomorrow so I fell asleep on the ground. The next day we planned to go to a place called AdventurePlayground and it was so awesome because we played LaserTag, Virtual Reality, Escape room and also we played Mini golf. I played Lasertag with my brother and my Little Brother and I won with a score of 23 kills because I kept ducking and dodging their shots and I destroyed 2 bases by shooting the lights. Then I played Virtual Reality, I had to survive all the rounds of Zombies and Flying Creatures with gun and I lasted 6 Rounds. I was a bit scared because it looked so real with the Virtual Reality so close to my eyes. We finished our fun time and went back to the hotel room for our final night, I fell asleep on the floor again and in the morning we packed our bags ready to go home. THE EDN(I know I spelt END wrong)

Kupe and the Wheke Script.

  Narrator - Davlyn
Kupe - Jeremy
Wife - Jairus
Wheke - Railey
Muturangi - Cheldyn
Fisherman - Xyrus

Narrator/davlyn-  A long long time ago there was a little island in the Pacific called Hawaiki, on the island, there was a village there was a fisherman called Kupe. Kupe was a rangatira, means he was a great fisherman. The villagers always go out and returned with waka laden with fish of coloured and sizes - gift from Tangaroa and Hinemoana. People gathered to greet them when they returned and divide the catch so the whanau had even share.

Narrator/davlyn - One day the fishermen lowered the line at their favourite fishing ground, they didn’t get their usual catch. Instead they pulled it out and found out the baits have vanished. This continued through the morning and into the day and not a single fisherman got a fish.

Fisherman/xyrus - This had never happened before?

Narrator/davlyn - the villagers were furious at the fishermen and secretly accused the fishermen.

Villagers/everyone - they must have been disrespecting Tangaroa and therefore causing their misfortune.

Narrator/davlyn - Kupe wasn’t happy considering what is happening so he called a hui. The whole island gathered to discuss the fate of their island. Kupe spoke first.

Kupe/jeremy - Tangaroa and Hinemoa had provided us with food since the beginning of time. The fishermen had fed and generously looked after the tribe. I will investigate what is happening.

Narrator/davlyn - Early morning the next day, Kupe and the fishermen went to their usual fishing ground. The same thing happened. But as Kupe pulled out his line he noticed a slimy substance covering his hook and recognised it  belongs to an octopus. They returned empty-handed again.

Narrator/davlyn - The next morning, Kupe went and spoke to Muturangi but Muturangi didn’t care, Kupe was annoyed with his response.

Kupe/jeremy - If you don’t do anything then I will slay]]  your pet so it won’t trouble the people again.

Narrator/davlyn - Kupe gathered the fishermen and the villagers to build a canoe, a large ocean going canoe.
They began their journey trying to catch the wheke who pillaging his fish he hunted him for a long time. But suddenly Kupes wife yelled out. Wife/Jairus - HEY LOOK LAND!!!! Narrator/davlyn - Kupe chased him all the way to the land of the long white cloud.

Kupe/jeremy - GET BACK HERE!!!!!!

Narrator/davlyn - He chased the wheke along the South Island and finally caught up with him between the South Island and Stewart Island. He picked up his fishing speared and hit him hard that he couldn't even move anymore.

Kupe- I GOT YOU NOW!HAHAHA.

Narrator/davlyn - after kupe killed the wheke they checked out the island they found then lived happily ever after.

World War 2 BY Jeremy

WW2 in 4 min?
1939 Brittain and Germany went to war again, after WWI. Soon after a couple of days, France and Russia along side of Japan joined the World WarII from the side of Germany. They had joined the war because past time, there was a lot of fighting between the countries and people. The war also happened in Pearl Harbour.

Japanese planes flew high in the sky and Japan also had a wide range of Watercrafts along the water of New Zealand. Soon after when the war first started, New Zealanders were fighting small sections of the war,(Like mini wars). Some of the places were in cramped, ugly and devastly hot desserts. Going back to the planes flying in the sky, there was an Kiwi Airman and his name was Edgar Cobber, he is very well known because he helped New Zealand alot by shooting an incredible 40 ENEMY planes! Sadly he was shot down by someone unknown.

In conclusion, Germany surrendered wich also led Japan to surrender in 1945.    THE END
